2016 WCMA NOMINATED ARTWORK

We met Blake Reid in 2013 while working with the Canadian Country Music Association on the inaugural CCMA Discovery Program. His performance at the industry showcase was a true knock out. When an artist has the ability to silence an entire room of jaded industry elite with just his voice and a guitar, you know they’re the real deal. When Blake teamed up with Royalty Records for his latest release RUST, we couldn’t wait to get started. This album of true country stories straight from the farm needed a package that reflected the heartache and hard work indicative of the rural lifestyle. The narrative of the strong stoic country life was an element we wanted to ensure we represented. Several tracks mention that in relation to “…that old windmill”, which became a cornerstone for Blake’s new brand. We paired a clean typeface reminiscent of that pulled from old farm equipment with the rooted windmill graphic we created referencing two of Blake’s songs.
