From 2018 to 2022 the CCMA commissioned a bespoke piece of artwork to recognize all the great Canadian artists who achieve a coveted number 1 single on Canadian radio. The brief included that we were to take inspiration from the song, single cover art and video to create a custom piece of art that is to be presented to the artist in celebration of their achievement. Each 18×24″ award is printed and laminated to acrylic to preserve the art and unique look.
Hidden in each piece are elements tied to the narrative of the song and the artists themselves. It also contains a list of all the Canadian radio stations who report to BDS/Soundscan.
