2019 WCMA Excellence In Visual Design [final nominee]

SIQINNARUT is the band’s genuinely long-awaited second album 33 years in the making. The album title refers to the return of the sun to Igloolik, a tiny Canadian Arctic hamlet, after 30 days of darkness.
Aakuluk Music and the band came to me with a great concept and these fantastic photos. After many hours and dozens of layers, masks and adjustments, the band appears as gods in the night sky rising with the sun after its long days of darkness.
It was an honour to collaborate with these rock legends, and I do hope we don’t have to wait another 30 years to hear more.
