Diary of a Housewife marketing
2018 & 2019 WCMA NOMINATED ARTWORK
Andrea came to me with a complete album package for “Diary of a Housewife”, but was looking to expand her brand both online through her website and merchandise table at shows. Using elements from the album art and creating a few additional pieces I developed the andreanixon.com. The website features a hero home page containing the bulk of Nixon’s content, and a secondary section to house her “Diary of a Housewife” blog.
Following the website I moved onto creating an emblem for Nixon to use as a custom rubber stamp on correspondance, envelopes and merchandise. The monarch butterfly was an ideal symbol for Nixon and the narrative of her music. The monarch butterflies struggle through many storms (literal and otherwise) to make their epic journey across North & Central America. I pulled the line “Stronger the storm” from one of Nixon’s songs to use on the tote bag, as it was a great positive message which also was fitting given that the monarch butterfly had become a key brand element. The “Diary of a…” journal was a natural extension for Nixon’s current album and made for a great addition to her merchandise line.
In 2018, we collaborated with Nixon once again to create two single covers. For the second single, “Fire In Lace”, I created a custom Facebook frame as an additional promotional item for Nixon to share on her page promoting the single release.
